From The Getty - Portrait of Antoine Singlin (About 1646, early Team Horseshoe Stache) by Philippe de Champaigne (French, 1602-1674, fond of painting staches). Antoine Singlin (1607-1664) was director of Port des Champs and Port Royal de Paris, convents at the center of the severely ascetic religous movement known as Jansenism. He served as confessor to both Louis XIV and the philosopher Blaise Pascal.
