DEFINITION XXX. Of four-sided figures, a square is that which has all its sides equal, and all its angles right angles.

I have constantly struggled with what art means to me. I frequently go to various art shows and poetry readings to figure that out but I almost never come back with anything. I see others affected emotionally by the colors or words and I yearn to feel that as well. Recently, I was in this art book store and I saw the cover to this book, The Elements of Euclid, and I immediately knew there was something special inside. When I opened it up and flipped through the stunning typeset and large colorful diagrams my heart literally jumped for joy. I was able to find an intersection of art and science and I was happy.

Um, learning....

I'll try to make it to Jeremy's show but I am playing a show later that night. Will it be earlier by any chance?

Is this the right forum to make plans? Probably not.

One of my teachers used to write W^5 instead of QED. It meant WWWWW, or Which Was What We Wanted.

I love math humor.

congratulations, my friend. art is friggin' weird because interpretation is subjective. it's always odd to see people get emotional over something you might not get yourself. I hope you enjoy having that over others with this book!

oh my! I love this book, it makes me happy to even see a blip of it. when I lived in Vancouver, I met this kooky expat (a draft dodger and lived with mennonite families). I He wrote a bunch of interactive books about the metric system, homeopathy, and o. chem. He also happened to have a vintage clothing store which is where I bought a pair lederhosen for Adam. I will look for his info, I think you too should meet.

etcvisitor I had that tab of your link open in my browser since you sent it. Hypershapes amaze and confound me.

Things like how a hypercube(teseract) is made up of 8 cubes(like how a cube is made up of 6 squares).

Or if our universe is actually a hypersphere and you shoot off into space in a straight line you would come back to the same point(like if a 2D person were to walk in a straight line on a sphere they would end up in the same place).

I know there are 2D projects of teseracts like on wikipedia, but I want to find a 3-D project of one like how we can draw 2D projects of cubes on paper. But we probably have nothing in our mind to comprehend how it can look in real life.
