This is an interesting spot in town. There was a film done here in 1990 with Susan Sarandon and James Spader called "White Palace", about an unlikely relationship between a working class diner waitress and an affluent widower. The film company completely re-did this diner for the scenes there and it remains as an odd little eatery in the middle of downtown.

@jnonfiction, I know what you mean. And for me, since so much of the film was shot here, I couldn't watch it without seeing scenes of people driving towards specific parts of town in the wrong direction, etc.
