I'm old fashioned, I love the moonlight, I love the old fashioned things ---

I'm a little sad today. My wax arrived tomorrow and today I tried to using it. I followed instructions on heating it before applying, it got to almost melting stage and then I rubbed on my fingers but it got harder again, I then started evenly rubbing it on my moustache but It got stuck a lot of times, but I managed to rub it in, but not on the curls. I used a lot of wax and couldn't do it right. I then combed, the middle to the beginning of the curls looked good I think, but on the curls the hairs were still crazy. Lost 10 long hairs on the process and now I'm sad because I can't apply it right. Please help me, how do I apply it good ? Do I need to do it with a hair dryer ?

On the picture I am with wax. I know, very bad.

See you around.

Paulie uses a hair drier for his. It also depends on what wax you're using.

Also, good luck with the wax! It seems quite frustrating sometimes, but you'll get better ;)
Nice picture as well. It's got a nice old feel to it. What camera did you use?

@Hope I use Hndlebars Wax. It was very well recommended from Handlebar Club Forum. I don't know if I need a softer wax, but I think I am the one applying wrong. I will try the hair dryer later, thanks.

I use a hairdryer and it works pretty good. Just keep at it. It gets frustrating at first but will get better with practice.

Oh yes, this is the one. Love the tone.

And I'm terrible at applying wax, too. Every time I try, my moustache looks crooked. Keep at it.

Wax is more art than science. Sometimes I use too much, other times too little. Just keep at it. You'll figure it out soon enough.

I obviously haven't mastered it either. I figure practice makes perfect, eventually.

Paulie says:
Typically I find it easiest to scrape a bit of wax onto my fingers and rub them together to sofen it up. Then rub it onto my stache all over (don't worry about getting it rubbed in or getting it even) then melt the wax with a hair dryer only after it has been applied and comb it in. Then form and let it cool.
