'Music' you say? Well, tonight I went to see Johnatcollege sing in a choir. That's pretty musical. Aside from hitting skinned cylinders for VAGUE ( ) SPACE I don't do a great deal of music. I enjoy listening to music but there's not much to photograph.

So here's Papa Simpson, Canapandy, Johnatcollege, Bry and his mum (Lizhotstuff) and me... in the oldest pub in Uddingston (where I live), the Rowantree.

Also, there is a jukebox there... or something.

This is not at all how I pictured the oldest pub in Scotland. Looks like some Japanese fusion bar in NYC or something, but then, I'm guessing there are lots of old bricks on the outside.
And late night Haggis stands.
Groundskeeper Willy is raking outside maybe.
And people are walking around with lots of golf clubs.
Others are skateboarding by while playing the bagpipe.
At least, that's how I'd like to picture it.

This is a pub? I thought it was someone's basement bar or something? Why isn't there anything on the walls like at Chili's?

I would make fun of you for singing in a choir, except you're awesome. And my gal would not be happy with me. She's in a choir, too.

I would wager that juke boxes on your side of the pond have better american music in them, than the ones on this side. I don't know why.

@thecontinuumtransfunctioner - sorry, it's not the oldest pub in Scotland (I was told it was... but I doubt this source (however it is the oldest in Uddingston). I lvoe this pub. We are sitting in one of three main areas of the pub. This was my first time in this area and loved the shitty TV, old puggy machine and jukebox type kiosk. The seats were old with faded vintage patterns. The walls were painted to disguise sandstone and rot.

The area I normally sit in is the main bar area where it is obvious just how old the building is... it even has a working log fire which is totally awesome. I mean, just CLAME for a photo of the outside. It's a totally great wee pub. I once had a brilliant lock-in there. Any pub that still does casual and regular lock-ins is a great pub in my book. Plus they serve Caley beer and great Scotch whisky.

Anyway, I get what you mean and I justify it with the fact that the photo really doesn't do it justice... AT ALL. Come and visit and I'll take you there; you'll fucking love it!
