'Tis death for any one in Mantua To come to Padua. Know you not the cause? Your ships are stay'd at Venice; and the duke,-- For private quarrel 'twixt your duke and him,-- Hath publish'd and proclaim'd it openly. 'Tis marvel, but that you are but newly come You might have heard it else proclaim'd about.

Man, I'm glad people don't still speak that way. Of course the way a lot of people talk now might be way worse and harder to understand. Either way, great shot. Lot's of awesome in this one. hat, expression, the dress.

Sorry to not be posting regularly. I've got a play going on, bad family stuff, and major computer problems--all of which are conspiring to make it really difficult for me to get photos posted regularly or to hang out here as much as I'd like.

One of these days, there will actually be a stretch of a month or two when I'm not dealing with a major crisis. I hope.

Sorry about all the stresses, but the play looks great, and this photo is particularly fun. I really envy the abilities of actors, particularly ones who can do Shakespeare!

Vanbert says:
not sure i'd trust that guy on the left.
Posted: May 16th, 2011 - 11:06am -
Scrivener says:
@Vanbert: That guy on the left is ENTIRELY untrustworthy. That's Tranio, pretending to be Lucentio, and trying (successfully) to con me into pretending to be Vincentio, Lucentio's father, so that Lucentio can con Bianca's mother into letting him marry her daughter.
Posted: May 16th, 2011 - 11:37am -
Scrivener says:
@keifel I'm playing the Pedant, who pretends to be Vincentio. It's a small part, but I get to have fun with the stage time that I have.

you're an actor playing an actor.. you're like a Fakespearean
Posted: May 17th, 2011 - 6:35am -
Scrivener says:
@Justie Just Part of the fun of doing Shakespeare is how often you end up playing an actor playing an actor. This is, in fact, the second time I've played an academic playing an actor in Shakespeare. Typecasting, indeed!
