I have been thinking a lot about Cindy Sherman, Stieglitz, Sally Mann, and Chuck Close....in regards to how we manifest our image to incorporate our influences. I have always adorned myself to show my daily digs, but these days I am also frightened of my image. So, a hint of horror is seeping into my vision like Frankenberry and Count Chocula.

You write the things I can only image about. One of the many reasons my love for you is undying.

This is a lovely picture. The description is amazing as well, and the comment from Hungarian Moustache is pretty much the sweetest thing ever. All around, this is awesome.

Provocative and insightful thoughts. I'm wondering about that hint of horror which our own images can produce. Is it something to resist, deny, or embrace...

I heard a segment on Radiolab about Chuck Close. Did you know he's face-blind? Clame.

dschonn.....chuck close is not so much of a fave for his work but for his sheer portraiture loving, and yes,I am aware of his face blindness. But, he is fascinating for his popularity and why/how his tenacity is so appealing. Perhaps his representational/easily understood effort is attributed. Sally Mann however is a recently confirmed heroine since I saw her documentary. She creates a world of her desire that no cerebral head can understand....just to feel engulfed or to feel inflamed by desire....perhaps anyway.
