I have fallen in love with your drumkit! Always wanted a sparkly Ludwig. Ended up with a '65 blue sparkle Japanese Ludwig knockoff (Gambles), but I bought it from the drummer for my favorite band, so it all evens out! It's mah baby!

@Senator Johnson That is awesome. I was playing on a 2001 Amber Fade Pearl Export for the past 10 years and just decided that it was time to really do it. When you know it's right the only way it will happen is if you work to make it happen ;) I custom ordered these babies and Ludwig made them for me in a month. They don't have a history but that's what I aim to create myself. Do you mind if I ask what the band or drummer was who you got your kit from?

The Straub misses his drumset. Why don't people in apartments like it when their neighbors have drumsets?

Senator Johnson says:
@TowerStache I bought them off of Brian Teasley from Man...Or Astro-Man? He's also played with countless other bands (including a stint in The Polyphonic Spree), and is a regular contributor to my favorite magazine (Chunklet). It's MOAM? that I've been obsessed with since '98, though. The original lineup recently reunited after a 10+ year hiatus and were selling off old items to fund a tour. eBay score of a lifetime for this kid!

Silver glitter, remo coated ambassador heads, are those old slingerland lugs and standard rims? What kinda band you playin in? Are these oldies or new drums? If new - what ply?! Sorry for so many questions - I used to build drums professionally =)

Tower Stache says:
7-ply Ludwig Classic Maple with small lugs, flanged rims, and 70's era badges. It is a custom built kit made earlier this year ;) 14" x 24" kick, 9" x 13" rack tom, 16" x 16" and 16" x 18" floor toms. I also play an 8" x 14" Ludwig Black Magic snare that sounds absolutely fantastic. Hard cases will be my next investment. Did you build for a small shop or a major brand?
